Logging Chopper Hours

There are many ways that you can become a certified chopper pilot, and these include learning about how the chopper actually flies. However, the most important thing that you need to do in order to become a chopper pilot is to log chopper hours.

Chopper hours are the actual hours that you are spending in the cockpit of a chopper, piloting it. These can be hours that you do as part of your training - such as with another certified pilot, or later on they can be hours that you do on your own, piloting a chopper for whatever reason. Sometimes, there is a difference between the chopper hours that you log on your own and the chopper hours that you log with another pilot, so you will want to look at the various certifications and see which ones are best for you.

There are a number of reasons that you will need to log chopper hours. First of all, in order to get your license to pilot a chopper, you need a certain number of hours. This is often between 40 and 60 hours - all of which can be expensive. However, you are going to need even more chopper hours if you want to actually get a pilots job, because often companies aren't going to hire someone with less than 1000 chopper hours on their record.

Therefore, if you do want to pilot choppers for a living, you need to be sure that you are logging enough chopper hours. You can do this in a number of ways, but the easiest ways can include teaching at a chopper school, or working privately to log chopper hours in your spare time. It might take some time, but if you follow through you can enjoy the benefits of having enough chopper hours.
