Logging Helicopter Time
There are many ways that you can become a pilot of a helicopter, including taking private lessons, and going to a school. However, the most important thing that you need to do, no matter what path you choose, is logging helicopter time. By logging helicopter time, you can do two things. First of all, you can show that you really do know what you are doing, and secondly, you can actually learn the things that you need to learn.
Helicopter time is important to log because it allows you to get that experience you need to get. Flying a helicopter is much different than doing anything on the ground - and even different from flying a plane. You simply cannot figure out how to do it by reading instructions, or even by watching it done. Logging helicopter time is the only way for you to figure out how to do it, and to learn to do it well. Otherwise, you might find that you are not going to know everything that you need to know.
When you are logging helicopter time, there are some important things to keep in mind. The first is that often a lot of helicopter time is needed. Even if the requirements for a license in your area are something like 40 or 60 hours of helicopter time, you often won't get hired in an actual position unless you have over a thousand hours of helicopter time. Therefore, something that is important to think about is the way that you are going to be able to continue to log hours, and continue to gain helicopter time. That is your best way of becoming a successful helicopter pilot, and your best way of enjoying the freedom that comes with helicopter flight.
